Fintwist Recurring Payments: Canceling a Subscription and Checking the Next Charge

If a subscription charges your Fintwist card, begin with the company that supplies the service. Establish whether you want to end the subscription, stop automatic payment, or keep the service and use a different payment method. These requests can have different consequences.

The CFPB distinguishes stopping automatic payments from canceling an underlying contract or debt. Its guidance on bank-account debits also recommends documenting authorization changes and contacting the financial institution. That guidance provides a useful distinction, but it does not establish the exact process for every Fintwist card transaction. Ask your provider which procedure applies to your payment. Identify the subscription before changing anything

Find the service account, the company issuing the bill, and the most recent invoice. If the payment description is unfamiliar, compare it with your subscription records rather than assuming that a familiar amount identifies the merchant.

Write down what you want to happen next. “Cancel my account” may be unclear if the company offers several services or subscriptions under one login.

A more precise request identifies the subscription and asks for the effective cancellation date:

Please cancel the monthly subscription associated with this customer reference and confirm whether another charge is scheduled.

Use the merchant’s designated cancellation process and retain the confirmation. Do not include your full card number in an ordinary email.

Read the confirmation for dates and amounts

A confirmation is most useful when it answers three questions: when cancellation takes effect, whether access continues until then, and whether the merchant says another payment remains due.

Consider this fictional sequence:

EventDate
Last payment shown on the invoiceSeptember 3
Cancellation requestedSeptember 18
Merchant confirms service endsOctober 2
Next renewal previously scheduledOctober 3

The dates help frame the next question: does the merchant confirm that the October 3 renewal has been canceled? The example does not establish a right to a partial refund or determine the terms of your own subscription.

If the confirmation says only that a request was received, follow up for the actual outcome. Keep the request and final response together.

Tell the provider what action you need

If your concern is future payment authorization, explain that clearly to the card provider. Ask which process applies, what information it requires, whether any fee applies, and what confirmation it can supply.

Avoid relying on a card replacement, expiration, or an empty balance as proof that the subscription itself has ended. The evidence you need is a clear response to the cancellation or payment instruction you actually submitted.

Likewise, if you are keeping the service but changing payment methods, ask the merchant when the new method will take effect. Our account-closing checklist explains why those arrangements should be reviewed before requesting closure.

Compare the next activity with the cancellation record

After the relevant billing date, review account activity for the merchant and amount. If a charge appears, compare its details with the service period on the invoice and the effective cancellation date.

A useful message to the merchant is:

You confirmed cancellation effective on this date. My account shows this later charge. Which service period does it cover, and why was it taken?

If the response does not resolve the issue, give the provider the cancellation confirmation and transaction details through its official support process. Corpay publishes a channel for questions and suspected errors involving electronic transfers. Corpay Prepaid error resolution

If you never authorized the subscription, report that fact promptly rather than treating the matter only as a routine cancellation. See the dispute guide for the relevant distinction. If the merchant confirms a refund, use the refund checklist to track it separately.
